KERR'S ANGEL FUND

Kerr's Angel Fund is a Florida non-profit assisting in medically necessary procedures, exams, medications, and care for pets whose owners would otherwise be unable to cover the cost. Every donation stays within our local area, so with each dollar given you are, in essence, helping a neighbor and their fur baby get the care they desperately need. We're proud to be able to help Paws Crossed Inc. and other local rescues as well as individuals.

Would you consider helping the community, specifically dogs, cats, and other pets?
We welcome monetary donations as well as items to resell/auction. Our annual Winterfest event is held to increase familiarity of and raise funds for the Angel Fund so that we can help more animals in need.
We appreciate all types of donations throughout the year!

The Ramirez family (Rossi on the far right)
I first met Dr. Kerr when my childhood dog, Lola, had to be brought in just a month shy of her 17th birthday to help her across the Rainbow Bridge. The care and compassion he showed us that day will stay with me forever. As we left that day, I told my parents that he would be our vet moving forward. When we added Rossi to our family, now a 100lb. Rottweiler, my heart had told me that I needed to rescue a dog that someone might overlook. I wanted to give her a better life than the one she had.

Fast forward to September 16th of 2022, Rossi injured her knee. I remember the panic I felt when Dr. Kerr told us that she needed surgery. He immediately looked at me and told us we can work it out. He allowed us to make a payment plan at that time so we could get our girl the help she needed. He successfully completed the surgery the same day and we were so relieved that our girl was ok!

Two weeks later SWFL was hit by the worst Hurricane we have ever seen, Hurricane Ian. Most of our area was without power or water for weeks. So many lost their homes, and many lost their lives. 12 days after the storm hit our girl woke up and could not walk at all. When I saw that, I completely fell apart. I thought I was going to lose her that day. She was only 2 years old. At this time Burnt Store Animal hospital did not even have functioning phones. I emailed in and received a call immediately to bring her in. When I arrived, the staff met me outside to help get her out of the car. These people who were still dealing with so many problems from the storm, were still there to help us. Dr. Kerr came in to tell us that her other knee had given out and she would need another surgery. I didn't know what we were going to do. I began to cry with the weight of all we had gone through the past few weeks. Dr. Kerr again said do not worry, we will work it out, we are family.
We have been making payments over the past few months; money that we did not have but we had to help our baby. When I found your letter letting us know that Kerr’s Angel Fund covered the remaining balance on our Rossi girl’s knee surgeries I sobbed. You have no idea what a relief this is for our family! Receiving the donation from Dr. Kerr’s Angel Fund was such a blessing!

I truly cannot express in words how thankful we are for your generosity. We will be eternally grateful for the amazing care we received from the Staff at Burnt Store Animal Hospital and Dr. Kerr.
