This patient suffered from cage anxiety
resulting in chewing the cage and damaging the
canine teeth. Restoration of these teeth not
only provides favorable aesthetics but more
importantly protects the dentin from
invasion of oral bacteria and subsequent tooth death. The cage confinement
was eliminated in this patient to prevent further damage. If
this was not possible, metal crowns would be
needed to prevent further trauma and likely
eventual fracture. The following pictures are
before and after treatment.
